Our programme has been created with your gut in mind so that we can get to the root cause of digestive issues and stomach problems (such as IBS) that you might be facing. So, let’s talk about your gut and some of the important aspects of gut health that we focus on at Mi Vida Inner Health.
You may have found us on the RICTAT register, or perhaps you found us by chance and are interested in why your gut is giving you problems. Regardless, we’re glad you’re here to find out more about what we do for women’s guts across the UK!
Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Irritable Bowel Disease (IBS) are two leading causes of gut issues, but unfortunately, telling them apart can prove to be tricky for those suffering from symptoms. Fortunately, we are trained specialists with the knowledge and individually tailored plans available to help our clients understand their bodies and work towards healing their digestive systems.
Why is getting to the root cause so vital?
Well, that’s because so many symptoms for each disorder mirror each other, so it makes understanding what’s wrong that much harder without the help of a licenced consultant.
Also, every person is different in how their body reacts to foods, environmental stressors and how they present these symptoms. For one, food may be the cause of bloating, but for another, it could be an overgrowth of yeast. This is why working to find out exactly what is causing your symptoms and tailoring a plan to restore your gut is key to creating the best results.
To do this, we use functional diagnostic testing rather than using guess work. This way, we can get to work on returning you back to optimum health faster.
Through our diagnostic testing, we run a range of tests, including looking at stool, urine, blood, and saliva. This is so that we can see if there are infections, inflammation, food allergies, detoxification issues or digestive issues present, and then we will be able to determine the cause of your symptoms.
We also check for SIBO, Small intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth, which mimics IBS, and this goes through our amazing labs, Regenerus Labs and Genova Diagnostics, who are fast, reliable and amazing at testing all samples received.
Who is our programme for?
This programme is specifically designed for two types of women:
- Women who are postmenopausal or going through perimenopause and struggling with gut-related issues.
- Women in their late 20s to early 30s who are experiencing gut issues due to the hustle and bustle of busy work life.
This is because female health is something that is ever-changing due to your stage in life, cycle and environmental factors such as stress which aren’t always obvious to see when first presenting symptoms. So, here at Mi Vida Inner Health, we decided to take charge of women’s gut issues to help women like ourselves who have suffered through digestive problems.
So, what does the Transform Your Gut Programme include?
This programme follows a functional medicine model to help you completely recover from the debilitating symptoms of poor gut health.
Within our programme, there are 6 stages to gut healing. With our powerful programme, we will work together to transform your gut through the use of food as medicine and specific nutraceuticals.
During the programme, we follow these 6 steps to bring your gut back to life, but first, we work on daily mindfulness activities to reduce stress and instil a sense of calm.
Let’s break down the steps:
Remove
First things first, we will remove anything harmful inside your gut by removing ‘bad’ food.
This means that you’ll be working with a nutritionist to develop a healthy natural foods diet, which will then allow the body to re-establish a healthy platform from where you can begin to heal.
Essentially, we need to bring your body back to basics without contaminants such as processed foods, lots of sugar, white carbohydrates, dairy, wheat, gluten and stimulants.
Usually, we’ll also recommend you stay away from dairy, wheat, caffeine and alcohol whilst following this programme, but if you find that you may struggle with this, we ask that you limit your intake instead.
Alongside a better diet, we also include a supplement called Candex SIBO that is especially good at removing bad bacteria and yeast, which can be the cause of bloating in some individuals.
Restore and Replace
The next step in the programme is to restore and replace your gut with the addition of gentle yet effective digestive enzymes.
These wonderful enzymes allow the body to digest the foods we eat in order to increase and improve our nutrient assimilation.
As the body needs a range of vitamins and minerals, we ensure that our plan provides enough nutrition while making sure that they are digested completely.
Re-inoculate
Next comes our third step, which is ‘re-inoculate’. We do this with the help of specific strains of well-researched probiotics to help heal and encourage the growth of friendly bacteria in your gut.
Repair and Re-balance
Now, let’s look at the last two steps to healing your inner health.
‘Repair & Re-balance’ is the result which comes from using Glutagenics and Nutrimonium powders. When used alongside each other, they repair and re-balance the damage to your gut wall, preventing issues such as food intolerance and other allergies, which are caused by a leaky, damaged gut wall.
If left untreated, a leaky gut can lead to immune dysregulation and autoimmune conditions, so making sure that we repair and re-balance your gut are two very important last steps.
As part of your healthy diet, we also provide dietary advice, recipes and links to where you can find good quality gluten-free foods. For example, Mayo Clinic and Dr Axe are great places for recipes and articles on your gut.
We also offer colonic hydrotherapy that aids in gently cleansing your colon, which is a great addition to your gut programme plan. To understand more about this programme and if it’s right for you, book in for your FREE Transform Your Gut discovery call to see if we’re a match to work together!
